‘Muttahida Aman Committee’ Led by Advocate Hussain Ahmed Madani called on Superintendent of Police (SP) City Abdul Salam Khalid here on Monday.
During the meeting, the members of the committee lauded the services of police in Peshawar for maintaining the law and order situation. The delegation also offered prayers for the martyrs of the Police Lines mosque blast.
The police and delegation representatives stressed joint efforts to defeat anti-social elements in the provincial capital. The committee agreed to work together with the police force against those involved spreading chaos in the name of religion and creed. Maulana Hussain Ahmad Madani expressed his satisfaction with the steps taken by the police to establish peace and order in the city and pledged full cooperation with the police and other government agencies.
SP City Abdul Salam Khalid appreciated the role of Muttahida Aman Committee in promoting inter-faith harmony and thanked them for their full cooperation. Mr Salam clarified that the committee has played a positive role in maintaining the atmosphere of religious tolerance and brotherhood in the city.
He said that after the recent tragic incident, a security audit has been conducted to improve the security of all religious places in the city in view of the current situation.
