ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Water Resources, Ahmad Atteeq Anwer, MNA, has urged the international community to take action against what he described as direct violations of the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) by India. He called on global community to take notice and help ensure compliance with the decades-old water-sharing agreement. In an interview with media, the Chairman said that Pakistan intends to raise the matter at international forums and pursue the case through the Permanent Court of Arbitration to seek legal remedy under the provisions of the treaty.
