Rs175b loss
ISLAMABAD
The NAB on Tuesday decided to close inquiries against two power plants, causing a loss of Rs175 billion to the national kitty, annually. Pakistan’s circular debt has been continuously rising, with the total payable for the July-April FY23 period clocking in at Rs2,631 billion. In this situation decision makers are supposed to implement law across the board without fear and favour to save the exchequer from further losses. A private television channel reported that the NAB chairman has okayed the closure of inquiries against Port Qasim and Sahiwal Coal power plants under new amended law.
