NAB gets helicopter to transport Nawaz, Maryam to jail

ISLAMABAD : The Ministry of Interior on Wednesday gave the go-ahead to the shifting of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz from Lahore airport to Adiala jail after their arrest upon arrival from London.

This approval came during a high-level meeting chaired by Interior secretary Yousuf Naseem in the federal capital.

The Punjab chief secretary, the provincial police chief, NAB deputy chairman and Lahore director general, FIA director general and Islamabad commissioner attended the meeting.

Sources said the moot approved a plan to move the former premier and his daughter from the airport to Adiala jail via helicopter.

It decided that the anti-graft watchdog will be provided a helicopter to transport them from Lahore airport where they will land on July 13 to Adiala Jail.
