PESHAWAR
In a rare development, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa officials on Monday paid a detail visit to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH).
According a statement issued by the spokesperson of the LRH Muhammad Asim, the NAB officials were briefed on the overall performance of the hospital.
Hospital director Dr. Muhammad Abrar Khan informed the officials about the machinery and equipment purchased in the past several years for the different sections as well as ongoing construction work, he said.
LRH Dean, MD, Associate Hospital Director, Director Finance, Director HR and Secretary Board of Governors (BOG) Bilal Bashir, Nursing Director and administrative officers also were also present on the occasion.
The hospital director also provided complete details about the recruitments made after the hospital obtain the status of Medical Teaching Institute (MTI), Asim said and added that the NAB delegation visited different wards of the hospital and appreciated the facilities provided to the patients.
According to sources, NAB has started a series of investigations related to alleged embezzlement and irregularities in the government-run hospitals of KP. The sources furthered that accountability watchdog has also instructed major MTI hospitals of the province to provide relevant record of the induction made during the previous government.
