ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Petroleum, Nadeem Babar Monday said that exploration and production (E&P) companies operating in and around Kohat and Karak districts must provide employment to locals and undertake social welfare schemes and infrastructure development work. The special assistant said this during a meeting with State Minister for Narcotics Shehryar Khan Afridi. Shahid Khattak, MNA from Karak also attended the meeting. Babar also directed the relevant companies to ensure the smooth execution of projects under CSR in these districts. Afridi said that oil and gas sector must meet their CSR obligations for development of operational areas and ensuring welfare of the people, residing in the localities of oil and gas producing areas.
