District narcotics committee Attock on Monday has launched a crackdown against the narcotics networks in university and colleges of the district on war footing basis.
This bold decision was taken in an emergency meeting held under the chairmanship of additional deputy commissioner(F&P) Attock Waqar Akbar Cheema flanked by CEO Education Attock Malik Mohsin Abbas, Deputy Director Colleges Prof. Arshad Khan, Deputy Director Social Welfare Attock, Superintendent Jail Attock, Excise and Taxation officer Attock Zafar Eshaq, Deputy Director Anti Narcotics Force Attock Mahshooq Ali Baroni, SHO, ANF Attock Raza Ahmed and other relevant officers the provincial departments.
During the session, it was also recommended to allocate special wards for the treatment of addicts of narcotics in Asfandyar Bukhari District Headquarters Hospital Attock while Deputy Director Social Welfare Attock apprised that a separate cell was also established for retention of narcotics prisoners.
ADG Waqar Akbar Cheema directed the sports officer Attock to organize special tournaments to engage the young people in healthy environment instead of using narcotics.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza accompanied with CEO Education, Attock, CEO Health Attock Dr. Asad Ismail and DEO Education have inspected the deaf and defective school peoples colony Attock and slow learning school Darsussalam colony Attock.
The visiting team have also noted the difficulties being faced by these institutions. On this occasion, DC Attock also directed the relevant authority to make sure the upgradation of labs of learning skills, audiology, sports and class rooms for the training of the special children being most important segment of our society. Earlier, DC Attock also inaugurated critical bazaar set up for the provision of special relief to the consumers on subsidized prices during the month of Ramazan.
The Deputy Commissioner Attock Rao Atif Raza for advised the supervisory officials to ensure quality and weight of the free wheat flour after checking sample of each sake at the weight machine installed on mega sale point Attock. He also directed legal proceedings should be initiated if any complaint of substandard flour is received from any miller of the district, he added.
