Islamabad : Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Khan said that terrorists have no faith and it is the insult of humanity to say them as humans.
He said this while addressing a prize distribution ceremony organized by National Peace Council (NPC) titled “Peace Award 2016” in a local hotel. The ceremony was presided over by the Chairman NPC Sardar Ghulam Mustafa Ansari.
“Minorities enjoys full protection in Pakistan and the nation has fought with courage and patience against terrorists and set unique example in the history”, he added and maintained that nation had rendered unprecedented sacrifices and upheld the flag of peace.
Lauding the services of Armed Forces, the Minister said that it had written a new history of matchless sacrifices for the eradication of terrorism in the country.
He further said that people of Pakistan are talented and do not avoid any sacrifice for the country.
At the end of the ceremony, the peace award 2016 was conferred to those personalities who rendered unprecedented services for the progress, prosperity of the country and promotion of interfaith harmony and peace.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan H.E Sun Y Dong was conferred peace award for launching CPEC in a transparent manner, Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) Shahid Ashraf Tarar, General Manager NHA Mukhtar Durrani, Javed Sadiq Director China State, Chairman National Security Council (NSC) General (Retd) Nasir Janjua, Secretary NSC Khushdil Khan.
Similarly, on performing outstanding services in media, the personalities who were conferred peace award include Mohsin Beg, Javed Malik, Shamshad Mangit and Hafiz-u-llah Usmani.
NPC also conferred peace award to Provincial Minister Jehangir Khanzada, son of former and slain provincial interior minister Col (Retd) Shuja Khanzada, Abdullah Gul, son of former DG-ISI and defense analyst Lt. General (Retd) Hamid Gul, Zarif Khan, tribal leader.
The Peace Council also conferred awards to ambassadors of Yemen and Oman deputed in Pakistan.
