National observers should ensure the implementation of the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan during the observation of the election process in the general elections.
This was said by Aziz Bahadur, the joint provincial election commissioner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in an awareness meeting held here on Thursday.
During the session he highlighted the role of observers in conducting transparent elections. He said that registered organizations can apply for Accreditation Cards as per prevailing procedure.
On this occasion, Director Elections Asif Ali Yasin reviewed the code of conduct issued by the Election Commission and the related constitutional and legal framework and measures to be taken for comprehensive and reliable elections, including the election laws regarding the minority community and deprived classes. And gave a detailed presentation on the steps for them.
The participants took keen interest in the session and asked many relevant questions which were answered. Apart from this, several women representatives shared their experience and offered suggestions
