The divisional bench (DB) of the High Court of Sindh, Karachi, heard the appeals filed by Nazeer Laghari against the Order dated 15 August 2023 today. The court ordered that Nazeer Laghari will not make any decisions concerning the University. The above Order re-affirms the position that the tenure of Nazeer Laghari has expired on 23 June 2023 and he has no power to make any decisions including day to day functioning of Isra University.
As per Order dated 03 August 2023 passed by Sindh High Court Mr. Ghulam Rasool Kazi has been directed to continue acting as the Registrar of Isra University whereas Dr Ghulamkadir Kazi continues to serve as the Chancellor of Isra University Hyderabad with effect from 20 December 2022 in line with Order dated 20 December 2022 passed by the Sindh High Court. Both these orders are fully effective and have been passed in the presence of lawyer(s) of Nazeer Laghari.
It is to be noted that a Divisional Bench of Sindh High Court, Hyderabad, has already directed the police on 24 August 2023 to comply with the orders passed by the Honorable Courts and thereby Nazeer Laghari has no authority to take any decision in respect of Isra University and he cannot interfere in the functions of the above mentioned Acting Registrar and Chancellor.
