NEPRA scales down electricity tariff for K-Electric consumers

NEPRA has scaled down the electricity tariff by Rs 4.87 per unit for K-Electric consumers.
The reduction in power tariff will not be applicable to life line consumers.
According to NEPRA the electricity tariff has been reduced under the head of Fuel adjustment for the month of August. The reduction in tariff of Rs 4.87 per unit will provide relief of Rs 7 billion to consumers.

NEPRA said during the course of hearing that K-Electric is generating electricity at expensive rate out of its resources. K-Electric is producing electricity at the cost of Rs 37.68 per unit out of its resources. It is getting electricity at the rate Rs 13.61 per unit from national grid.
