ISLAMABAD
National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has hiked power tariff by paisas 34 per unit. The increase has been made under the head of monthly fuel adjustment for the month of March. This hike in power tariff will shift additional financial burden of Rs 2.90 billion to consumers.
The hiked tariff will not be applicable to life line and K-Electric consumers. The consumers will have to make additional payments in the electricity bills for the month of May.
According to CPPA the burden of the LNG which we cannot use shifts to electricity consumers.
It is pertinent to mention here CPPA had requested for hiking the power tariff by Rs1.17 per unit. On the other hand power division had turned down CPPA plea for raising power tariff.
