On the directions of Inspector General Inam Ghani, National Highways and Motorways (NHMP) has used all its resources to clear Murree Expressway and evacuate most of the stranded tourists. As a result of the tireless struggle of field officers of NHMP, direct supervision of the operational activities by the IG, Inam Ghani, additional deployments, and efficient utilization of existing resources, both sides of the Murree Expressway have been cleared from snow and all kind of obstruction including stuck vehicles.
Due to unavailability of public transport, the motorway police escorted tourists to Bara Kahu in their own vehicles.
Thus, the ongoing rescue operation of National Highways and Motorways Police under the direct supervision of IG, NHMP Inam Ghani and DIG NHMP North Zone Ishfaq Ahmed has been successfully completed. Along with Motorway Police the National Highway Authority (NHA) and its machinery was busy clearing the Muree Expressway.
Moreover, as precautionary measures, the Murree Expressway is being continuously salted with the help of extra manpower to avoid accidents due to slippery roads after the snowfall.
Road users joining Murree Expressway are being briefed regarding bad weather conditions and driving techniques in hilly terrain at Phalgran Toll Plaza to ensure the safety of lives and property of road users traveling under emergency situations.
