Nisar Ahmad officially launches monsoon tree plantation campaign

Commissioner Mardan Division, Nisar Ahmad, formally inaugurated the Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2025. The official launching ceremony was held at Pakhtunkhwa House, Mardan.
It is noteworthy that, under the directives of the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a significant number of fruit-bearing trees will be planted during this year’s monsoon season.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Eid Nawaz Sherani, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Planning) Syed Fahad Iftikhar, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief & Human Rights) Iqbal Hussain Khattak, Secretary to Commissioner Fazal Wahid, Assistant Commissioner Kamran Khan, and Assistant to Commissioner Dawood Khan were also present.
Speaking at the event, Commissioner Nisar Ahmad emphasized that tree plantation is an effective means of environmental protection, pollution control, and providing a greener and healthier environment for future generations. He appealed to the public, students, government officials, and social organizations to actively participate in this national campaign.
The Divisional Forest Officer informed that during the monsoon season, 5,000 fruit trees of 15 different species will be planted in Mardan and Swabi. Additionally, a target has been set to distribute one million saplings in both districts this year, which will be achieved at all costs.
Plantation drives will take place at various government schools, colleges, hospitals, offices, and public places.
Commissioner Nisar Ahmad instructed the district administration and forest department to work in a coordinated manner to ensure the success of the campaign.
Earlier, the Commissioner and the Additional Deputy Commissioners formally inaugurated the campaign by planting trees in the lawns of Pakhtunkhwa House.
