NKATI, Karachi Police Chief join hands for making industrial area crime free

Additional IG Karachi, Javed Alam Odho has said that providing fool proof security to the business community is the top priority. North Karachi will use all resources to ensure a conducive and peaceful environment in the industrial area and surveillance cameras will be installed to make the industrial area crime-free. In this regard, full cooperation will be extended to North Karachi Association of Trade & Industry (NKATI).
He said this while addressing a meeting on the occasion of NKATI’s visit. On the occasion, Karachi also announced to provide police mobiles, personnel, increase patrolling and provide motorcycles for police patrols at the request of NKATI President Faisal Moiz Khan. Following which, the members also expressed their commitment to provide police mobiles. Naeem Haider, VP NKATI, Chief Crime Monitoring Cell, Akhtar Ismail, Sadiq Muhammad, Syed Tariq Rashid, Syed Usman Ali and other members were also present in the meeting.

Appreciating the cooperation of the Police Chief, he said that there was an urgent need to set up a new surveillance system in the North Karachi Industrial Area on the lines of CPLC.
In collaboration with Police Department, Rangers and GFS, hidden cameras would be installed in North Karachi Industrial Area so that snap checking as well as entry and exit routes could be closely monitored, he said, adding that by making the industrial area crime free, a conducive environment can be provided to the industrial community.
Faisal Moiz drew the attention of the Chief of Police to the increasing activities of snatching outside banks, and said that there was a need to increase patrolling in the entire North Karachi Industrial Area and sensitive places. Among them Gabol Town, Rahmani Mor, Lasi Goth are more sensitive.
NKATI president also called for the removal of encroachments on industrial plots that are being used for commercial purposes. Encroachments are being made through illegal mini hotels, cafes and dhabas which need to be removed.
