No shortage of water purification tablets, claims KP health dept

PESHAWAR: Health department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday rejected reports that there was any shortage of water purification or Aqua tablets in the province, adding that it was devising a strategy to take action against profiteers and hoarders, said a handout. Responding to reports of shortage of water purification tablets stocks in the market, the department spokesperson stated that there were plenty of Aqua Tabs and other water purification tablets with the same formula available in the market. However, he said that an attempt was made to create an artificial crisis for profiteering, adding that teams of drug inspectors have been activated for strict monitoring of the stock in the market. According to the health department, consumption of water purification tablets has surged especially in flood-hit areas. “These tablets make the waste water potable through purification. Drug inspectors are closely monitoring to ensure the supply of medicines in flood-affected areas,” Health department added. DLP Report
