ISLAMABAD
Speaker National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq while expressing resentment over not giving replies by federal ministries to questions from parliamentarians has directed that replies by federal ministries be provided within 15 days.
According to NA sources NA speaker had reprimanded senior officials of ministry of finance in his chamber on Friday over not giving reply to questions of parliamentarians.
The sources said speaker NA said that “ not giving reply on time is insult of parliamentarians.
As per sources NA secretariat has written a letter to all ministries and divisions under the directives of speaker NA whereby they have been directed to send reply to the questions of members of parliament on time.
Sources said the questions from parliamentarians are sent to respective divisions and ministries 15 days before. It is not acceptable if the replies are not sent to members of parliament after two weeks.
As per sources action will be initiated against the secretary of respective ministry for not sending replies timely.
NA secretariat has sent the copy of letter to Prime Minister Office and respective secretaries.
