ISLAMABAD
An official of Islamabad police was injured as police foiled a taxi cab snatching incident here Friday-Saturday night.
Responding to call about an armed accused driving in taxi towards Khanna on Service Road, the police showed immediate response and stopped the cab in a nearby scene.
Upon sight of police, the culprit started firing injured a police personnel Pervez Anwar and fled the scene the vehicle by road.
Senior police officials also reached the scene of the crime soon after getting the information.
The injured official was shifted to hospital for treatment. The police after registering a case against the cab snatcher started raids for his arrest.
The senior police officers reached the crime scene. Raids are being conducted in different areas to arrest the accused.
Inspector General Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Ahsan Younas and other senior officers visited hospital to inquire about health of the injured cop.
