OGRA cuts LPG price by Rs3 per kg

Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority on Monday slashed the price of LPG by Rs3 per kg, the notification of which has been issued. With a cut of Rs3 per kg, the prices of a domestic cylinder have come down by Rs30 and that of a commercial cylinder by Rs114. The new price of LPG has been fixed at Rs218 per kg. Despite the drop in LPG prices, LPG is being sold at Rs240 to250 in the city. LPG Distributors Association Chairman Irfan Khokhar said that all the distributors will get LPG at the price fixed by OGRA. Irfan Khokhar said that the closure of JVL is causing a loss of Rs60 billion to the exchequer.
LPG JJVL should be run immediately to meet the shortfall so as to save the exchequer from loss.
It is pertinent to mention here that a day earlier, the federal government announced a reduction in the price of petrol by Rs3.05 per litre for the first 15 days of August 2022. According to the notification issued by the Finance Division, the government has slashed petrol price by Rs3.05 per litre and light diesel oil by Rs12 per litre. The price of high-speed diesel has been jacked up by Rs8.95 per litre, while the rate of kerosene oil was gone up by Rs4.62 per litre. The new price of petrol will be Rs227.19 per litre, high-speed diesel 244.95, kerosene oil 201.07 and LSD 191.32 per litre.
