Promising opening batsman Zeeshan struck an elegant knock of 47 runs off 24 ball with five dashing boundaries and three towering sixes guided his team to a comfortable six wickets victory against Al-Quresh XI in a Twenty20 match played here on Sunday.
Batting with responsibility, Zeeshan controlled the one end and played with fluent batting by scoring a vital 47 runs off 24 balls, however, he missed his very deserving half-century but he had a role in his team victory.
Al Quresh XI won the toss and decided to bat first by setting up a 141 runs target for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Mustafa Hanif played his key role, hitting all the rival bowlers around the rope with his elegant batting. Facing 62 balls, Mustafa Hanif smashed 89 runs with 11 cracking boundaries and three sixes – one on the long-on boundary and two on the leg side. He was also supported by another promising batsman Minhas who made 32 runs off 36 balls with four boundaries and one six, Arsalan Qureshi was another prominent in the batting line up and scored 10 off 7 balls with one six and a boundary.
For Marwat Lions right-arm medium fast bowler Fazal Rahim took four wickets for 12 runs only in his four overs spell, Atisham took two for 41, a bit expensive he was, in his four overs spell and Zeeshan took one for 9 runs in one over.
In reply, opening batsman Zeeshan played elegantly and hammered a cracking 47 runs off 24 balls with another promising batsman Tahir who struck 38 runs off 27 balls with three boundaries and two sixes. Fazal Raheem made 19 runs off 18 balls and thus Marwat Lions succeeded in chasing the target for the loss of four wickets in 15.1 overs and won the match. For Al Quresh Khalid took two wickets for 32 runs in his three overs spell, Zaman got one wicket for 21 runs in his three overs spell. Thus Marwat Lions won the match by six wickets.
