The opposition parties has initiated consultation regarding challenging the government’s approved of 33 bills in hurry from the Parliament in court and moving no-confidence motion against National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaisar.
The matter has been sent to the opposition parties’ Join Steering Committee.
According to the opposition sources, the Join Steering Committee will take final decision regarding no-confidence motion against Asad Qaisar. The committee will also share its recommendations regarding removal of Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani as well as establishing environment for opposition leader in the Senate for the chairmanship.
PML-N senior leader Ahsan Iqbal said that the way Speaker bulldozed the national assembly decorum,it has lost the opposition trust in him. Due to the reason, the opposition has deep reservations against the speakers and working with him in the future would not be possible for them.
He said the joint opposition is considering the option to table no-confidence motion against the speaker.
The sources said that the suggestion to table no-confidence motion against the speaker is floated by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the opposition leader in the Parliament has agreed with his suggestion.
However, for making it a success, all political parties in opposition would have to build consensus, adding that the opposition members in NA is 156 whereas 172 members votes are needed to make is no confidence motion a success.
