Opposition submits no-confidence motion against CM-KP

Opposition lawmakers in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly on Friday submitted a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Mahmood Khan to the assembly secretary.
Awami National Party (ANP) parliamentary leader Sardar Hussain Babik, Khusdil Khan advocate, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) woman lawmaker Nighat Orakzai, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Sobia Khan, and Bilawal Afridi from Balocistan Awami Party (BAP) submitted the no-trust motion and requisition for a session.
According to the no confidence motion, a copy of which available with this scribe, a total of 41 MPAs from the opposition parties in the provincial assembly have signed the no-confidence motion against KP Chief Minister.
Sources claimed that joint opposition lawmakers submitted no-trust motion after acquiring approval from Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) central leadership.
The opposition claimed to have support of required lawmakers in the KP Assembly to de-seat Pakistan Tehreek -e- Insaf (PTI) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
PTI has 95 out of total 146 MPAs with one lawmaker from PML-Q while two independent MPAs support the PTI government.
BAP, who was in alliance with ruling party, has decided to support the move of the opposition.
In KP Assembly JUl-F has 16 members, ANP with 12 MPAs while P M L- has seven lawmakers and PPP and JI have 6 and 3 legislators each in the KP Assembly.
