Opposition is reportedly facing split over the issue of appointment of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman, as its steering committee is so far unable to suggest a name before government. According to well-placed sources, opposition’s steering committee could not suggest name to the government even after meeting thrice. Main opposition parties Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have rejected each other’s suggestions while other parties have sought time to consult their leaderships.
The meeting will take place within couple of coming days. Opposition’s steering committee will send the NAB chairman’s name to opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif once consensus is reached.
Opposition leader will then present the name before President Arif Alvi for due consultation.
