Licenses of drivers of passenger and freight vehicles who repeatedly violate traffic rules should be suspended

Regional Conference was held under the chairmanship of IG, NHMP Inam Ghani at Central Police Office National Highways and Motorways Police Islamabad. In which all the Regional, Zonal and Sector Commanders of National Highways and Motorways Police participated. On the direction of IG, NHMP Inam Ghani, an emergency campaign has been launched against lane violations of passenger and freight vehicles.
In the conference, IG Inam Ghani categorically directed that all passenger and freight vehicles companies and owners should be engaged to brought on one platform and make them realize that many drivers lead to fatal accidents which resulted in loss of precious lives. He said that practical steps are needed to prevent the loss of such precious lives.
IG Inam Ghani further said that complete information of such drivers should be sought from the transport companies and challan records should be exchanged with them so that the drivers who have repeatedly violated traffic rules particularly lane violation could be banned from coming on the motorway.
Drivers who have been issued a violation ticket ten times will be penalised by suspending their licenses under NHSO-2000. Transport companies’ vehicles will be banned and will not be allowed to travel on motorways. If they somehow get on the motorways, they will be taken out of the next interchange.
IG Inam Ghani said that to ensure safe travel of passengers on motorways and highways, the regional and zonal commanders should meet the owners of passenger and freight vehicles companies. From constables to IG,we are all traffic officers, and it’s our prime responsibility to keep Motorways and highways safe for our commuters.
