Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Saif, has stated that peace has been restored in District Kurram due to the prudent efforts of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
The area has been cleared of bunkers and weapons, with approximately 979 bunkers destroyed from both sides.
The region has been completely disarmed. He further stated that weapons and ammunition from 86 villages have been confiscated and taken into government custody after disarming the residents.
The main source of tension between the two sides was the presence of bunkers and arms. Barrister Dr. Saif mentioned that during the conflict, the Chief Minister dedicated his personal helicopter for relief operations.
Through 338 helicopter sorties, 29,140 kilograms of medicines were delivered to the affected areas, and 9,290 individuals, including patients, were safely relocated to Peshawar and other regions.
Development activities in the area are now progressing rapidly. An amount of Rs. 100 million has been approved for the repair of the Thall-Parachinar Road.
Additionally, a road expansion project worth Rs. 9.6 billion is underway. Out of the Rs. 728 million allocated for the renovation of local markets, over Rs. 300 million has already been utilized.
