The president of transgender rights group, Trans Action Alliance Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Farzana Ilyas, on Thursday that more that 90 eunuchs were killed in different parts of the province since 2015 and more that 17, 00 different type of incident were occurred with eunuchs.
She said while speaking at a press conference at Mardan press club.
Large numbers of eunuchs attended the press conference.She added that in the last four or five years, 1,500 transgender individuals have been raped. She added that a few days ago a eunuch named Rani along with his other friends went to Gujjar Ghari to attend a wedding ceremony.
She added that in this connection he gets permission from Saddar police station and police post officials. She added that during the function a person identified as Babar reached there along with other unidentified gunmen and allegedly started firing on eunuch Rani.
She added that later on he reached the concerned police station to register the FIR against the mentioned person. She alleged that police closed the door of the police station and wasn’t ready to register the FIR.
She added that later on they staged a protest rally outside the district police office. She added that later on station house officer (SHO) City police station Ashiq Hussain reached there and convinced them and assured them to register the FIR and also assure to arrest the accused.
She added that the SHO registered the FIR. She alleged that however the police registered a weak FIR against the mentioned accused. She added that due to the week FIR the court granted bail to the mentioned accused.
She alleged that due to the weak FIR the accused get benefit. She alleged that the police recovered the weapon from the arrested accused however police did not mention the weapon in the FIR. She added that now the mentioned accused is threatening the eunuch Rani. She added that later on the mentioned eunuch visited Saddar police station however the attitude of the SHO and Muharr was very rude with them.
She added that they will register a petition against the SHO and Muharrar Saddar police station in Peshawar high court. She alleged that when they meet the high level officers their attitude was good but they said that eunuchs are also human.
She added that Prime Minister Imran Khan also has not decided so far that eunuchs are human. She added that it should be immediately decided that eunuchs are human. She added that such types of incidents occurring with the eunuchs are damaging the image of the province and country.
