KP provincial government has allocated PKR 26,111 million in the budget for the improvement and modernization of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s agriculture sector.
The Annual Development Program (ADP) includes a total of 46 projects for the Agriculture Department. Work is ongoing on 28 of these projects, while 18 new projects will be initiated.
A total of PKR 7,251 million has been allocated for these projects. PKR 4,810 million will be provided for ongoing projects, and PKR 3,170 million for the new projects.
Seven projects included in the Annual Development Program are due for completion. Among these, one is a new project, while six are ongoing projects.
The completion of these projects is expected to significantly increase the province’s agricultural production and improve facilities for farmers.
The government has allocated PKR 500 million for reforms in the agricultural sector. Additionally, PKR 330 million has been allocated to protect crops from diseases and ensure agricultural safeguards.
The timely completion of the new and ongoing projects in the Annual Development Program will give farmers access to modern technology, improved seeds, and efficient water delivery systems.
This will ensure an increase in agricultural production and rural prosperity. Provincial government is committed to the welfare of farmers and comprehensive development of the agricultural sector.
