PESHAWAR
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Sub-Committee on Administration Department asked government high ups to take practical steps for eradication of protocol culture and unnecessary expenditures on high ups transportations and accommodations.
The meeting of the committee chaired by female lawmaker Shagufta Malik here on Wednesday at KP Assembly Conference Hall.
In addition to MPA Hidayatur Rahman, Secretary Local Government, Commissioner Peshawar Division, Deputy Secretary Administration Department, Deputy and Assistant Secretaries Provincial Assembly, Assistant Advocate General and Section Officer Law Department, other relevant officers attended the meeting.
Chairperson of the committee said that it was the responsibility of the government officials to utilize government resources as per the law.
She also stressed on the elimination of protocol culture and unnecessary expenditures of the high ups in the province.
The forum held a detail discussion over the vehicles purchased for senior officers, especially Commissioner Peshawar Office, Protocol Office and Local Government Department.
On this occasion, Chairperson and MPA Shagufta Malik declared the information and details provided as insufficient and issued orders to the officers to submit all required information to the committee in the next meeting.
Secretary Local Government and Commissioner Peshawar Division also assured to bring the details of all the vehicles used by these departments along with the policy and rules and regulations.
Shagufta Malik also issued orders to invite the representative Board of Revenue, SMBR and Secretary P&D to present the complete details of Local Government Act A-121 before the committee in the next meeting.
