PESHAWAR
A high-level meeting between the Secretary of Commerce and Industry and the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Babar Saleem Swati, was held at the Assembly Secretariat, Peshawar, to discuss key issues concerning the Department of Industries, Commerce, and Technical Training Institutions. MPA Ikramullah Ghazi and the Director of TEVTA were also in attendance.
During the meeting, special attention was given to the possible rehabilitation of TEVTA employees. Speaker Babar Saleem Swati directed that the concerns of the affected employees be addressed on a humanitarian basis, and that appropriate measures be proposed for their rehabilitation in accordance with established rules.
The discussion also focused on the development and modernization of the Hattar and Mansehra Industrial Zones. The Speaker emphasized the potential of both zones and expressed the government’s commitment to enhancing their productivity by providing modern facilities and industrial support.
In addition, the meeting addressed issues related to payments to landowners whose property was acquired by the government. Speaker Swati instructed the concerned authorities to ensure better coordination and expedite actions to resolve these matters efficiently.
Concluding the meeting, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati highlighted that the government is prioritizing the development of industrial zones, strengthening of training institutions, and addressing public grievances, all aimed at fostering the economic growth of KP.
