PAC demands to lower petroleum prices

ISLAMABAD: Public accounts committee (PAC) demanded government to lower down the petroleum prices as prices decreased internationally. It emerged on Wednesday in PAC meeting. Public accounts committee meeting was chaired by Noor Alam Khan at parliament house. In a meeting committee expressed their anger over the absence of officials including the acting finance secretary and Governor State Bank.
While rejecting the letter of former Chairman NAB to excuse from appearing before the committee due to Eid ul Azha, committee ordered to inform the chairman NAB to must join the meeting on Thursday along with the NAB assets details.
Committee also said the expenditure of the meeting will be taken from the officials absent.
They also decided to write a letter to prime minister for the expression of the anger over the absence of officials from the meeting.
Committee also said that they may also take action on the matters of public interest like the issues of harassment of females by chiefs of various departments.
Investigation on the allegations leveled by the female on head of high institution, said committee.
Committee also ordered auditor general to bring audit document of National Bank along with bank authorities on 22 July meeting.
