PAC once again summons chairman NAB on January 26


Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has refused to withdraw from its decision on the matter of summoning chairman NAB Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal before it and it has once again summoned him on January 26.
The PAC has made it clear that if chairman NAB misstatement with PAC proved then a reference can be filed against him.

According to PAC Secretariat sources chairman NAB Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal has once again been summoned before PAC on January 26 and he will have to appear at every cost. Notice for 2 days from January 25 to January 26 has been issued by PAC.

Chairman NAB has been summoned on January 26 and he will give briefing to PAC on NAB recoveries, use of recovered money and mega corruption scandals related cases.

On the other hand PAC Secretariat has been informed Prime Minister (PM) House had not stopped Chairman NAB from attending PAC meeting. PM name was used with reference to the letter written in this respect.
PM office has informed in this respect through a letter.

Chairman PAC Rana Tanvir Hussain has said the investigations into suspicious letter of chairman NAB are underway. If it is proved that the letter has been written with the permission of chairman NAB then reference can be filed against him. Decision will be taken in this connection after consultations with committee.

Chairman NAB had not appeared before PAC by using name of PM and he had presented a letter in this respect before PAC. This letter was withdrawn after the protest from members of PAC. But PAC is conducting investigation in respect of this letter.
