The public accounts committee of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly on Thursday rejected audit department report that highlighted a number of expenditure irregularities committed by the department KP’s home department.
The reports had
pinpointed ten different audit objections on the violation of the existing irregularities in the expenditure of the Home department have been rejected. The committee asked for complete verification of relevant records with respect to two objections.
According to the official, the issue, after a detailed discussion of the members, was made objectionable and dismissed on the condition of recovery of money, fulfillment of rules and regulations and examination and verification of documentary records.
The department has also been directed to make the procurement process of medicines and wheat more transparent and easy for jail intimates.
The meeting of the public account committee held at KP House Abbottabad under the chairmanship of the committee chairman and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Idrees Khan which was attended by members of KP Assembly and Committee Inayatullah Khan, Babar Saleem Swati, Jamshed Khan, Fazal Shakoor, and Arbab Wasim Hayat besides Secretary KP Assembly Nasrullah Khan Khattak, Secretary PAC Amjad Ali, Deputy Secretary Etri Hashtmad, Assistant Secretary Etri Haris Khan attended.
The meeting was also attended by officials of the provincial Home Department and its sub-departments, including prisons and police.
The meeting also discussed the audit of the expenditure of the provincial Home Department and its sub-departments.
He directed the
Home Department to take steps to make its sub-departments aware of the rules and regulations related to financial matters so that any irregularities due to unfamiliarity with the law could be rectified. Could be eliminated.
