PAJCCI ask Pakistan to address Pak-Afghan traders problems

Pak-Afghan joint Chamber of Comerace and Industry (PAJCCI) asked the Pakistani government to resolves the business community problems aggressively and avail benefits from the changed scenario in Afghanistan.
The meeting was also attended by private sectors from both sides, custom and NLC officials. Additional Directer Transit, Wajid Zaman, Additional Collector Custom, Muhmmad Tayyab, Deputy Director Transit Ghulam Khan, Amanat Khan, Deputy Director Transit Torkhem and Asfandyar also attended the meeting.
Businessmen from Pakistan included Faiz Muhammad, Khalid Shezad, Imtiaz Ahmad, Shuja Muhammad and Shahid Hussian were also part of the meeting.
Co-chairman Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PAJCCI), Khan Jan Alokozai said this on Sunday that in the changed scenario in Afghanistan, Pakistan has an advantage to come forward and work on the business issues prevailed with Afghanistan since long.
He held a meeting with Pak-Afghan traders and transporters here at Tokham border which was attedded by businessmen, industrialists and import and export related persons.
Khan Jan said appreciated the Pakistano authorities for facilitating Afghan delegation and showing keen interest in resolving the issues in hand.
Alokozai added that in the past 20 years, the diplomatic relation between two countries remained not satisfactory. He said in the new administration in Afghanistan, Pakistan has an advantage to come forward and resolve problems aggressively to strengthen ties with Afghan government and its people.
He reiterated that Pakistan should study and adopt trade policies of Uzbekiztan and Iran with Aghanistan. He said it would be helpful and effective for Pakistan to launch a smooth and effective trade relation with Afghanistan.
He suggested that just like the two countries they should also have 20-member committee including PAJCCI directors from both sides representing the business community, custom officials, border officials, commercial consulates and relevant officials which could help facilitate immediate resolution or clarification of the matters arising in real-time.
He said that a specific would be issued to the representatives of business members so that they could cross and work across the border.
He said by dividing the business activities at Ghulam Khan,Angoor Ada, Kharlachi and Torkham mtraffic problems could be resolved.
Alokozai said internet facility at Ghulam Khan, lack of flour and cooking oil in Afghanistan having devastating effects on the citizens. He said both the countries should bring an ease in travel, especially for pedestrians and traders.
He requested to allow shifting load of empty containers from Torkham to other border crossing areas.
Co-Chairman PAJCCI also thanked Pakistan for ensuring visa on arrival for Afghanistan and added that it would significantly support strengthen the ties.
