Pak-Afghan traders plan joint exhibition in Peshawar

Traders’ delegation led by Pakistan borders trade council chairman Syed Jawad Hussain Kazmi on Tuesday met with Afghan consul general Hafiz Mohibullah to finalize the preparations of firstever industrial exhibition to be organized in Peshawar in November.
The meeting was also attended by Khyber chamber president Haji Yousaf Afridi, Qadeer Dawar, president of North Waziristan chamber, Hammad Kazmi, president of Kurram chamber and other traders,exporters and businessmen from tribal areas and Peshawar.
Talking to Lead Pakistan Jawad Hussain Kazmi said that the meeting discussed various bilateral issues in detailed. He said consultation on the first-ever Pak-Afghan joint exhibition scheduled for November was the key point to finalize the event date and venue with the Afghan consul general.
Consul General Hafiz Mohibullah termed the initiative historic and said that the industrial exhibition under Khyber chamber of commerce would be a source of pride. He assured the Afghan government’s full cooperation and emphasized the importance of continuity in such trade activities.
Chairman Syed Jawad Hussain Kazmi said the joint exhibition would not only promote bilateral trade but also contribute towards peace, social stability and political harmony in the region. He announced that future exhibitions would be organized in Islamabad and Kabul as well.
Kazmi also highlighted ongoing efforts to establish border markets along trade routes with Afghanistan, saying such measures would provide more opportunities for business communities on both sides.
Khyber chamber president Haji Yousaf Afridi said the exhibition aimed to enhance trade and social ties.He said the first-ever Pak-Afghan industrial exhibition would be of three days scheduled in November first week.
