The family of a martyred Pakistan Army soldier has accused a local lawyer of illegally trying to take over their land by falsely declaring it a public pathway. The family stated that the lawyer used his past connections in the revenue department to change official records and win a court decision in his favor.
According to a written application submitted to the district administration in Karak, the family members of Shaheed Sanaullah of Mitha Khel village has alleged that a local lawyer, who himself is a habitual litigant, has manipulated official records and secured a court ruling declaring the family’s land as a public thoroughfare. The land in question belongs to the heirs of a soldier who embraced martyrdom while performing his duties in the Kargil sector, one of the world’s highest and most challenging military deployments, in 1999. Family members maintain that no pathway exists on the ground in any direction— north, south, east, or west — through their land. They allege that the claim of a thoroughfare is entirely fabricated and was established through collusion with a local patwari and certain local officials in the revenue department. The lawyer who belongs to Tarkha Koi village, has retired from the revenue department as pay officer and later became an advocate only to influence his court cases. “This is a blatant injustice against the heirs of a martyr who sacrificed his life for the country,” said a member of Shaheed Sanaullah’s family. The family’s application further claims that the lawyer exploited legal loopholes and administrative connections to obtain a favorable verdict, despite the absence of physical evidence supporting the existence of a pathway. The affected family has called on the district administration to conduct an impartial inquiry, take legal action against all those involved, and reverse what they describe as an illegal and unethical decision. Local sources indicate that the case has sparked concern among residents, who view the matter as a test of accountability and justice, particularly given the involvement of a martyr’s family. Legal experts say that if proven, the allegations could constitute serious violations, including fraud, misuse of authority, and manipulation of land records—offenses that carry significant legal consequences. The family has urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan and Field Marshall Gen Asim Munir, relevant authorities to ensure swift action, emphasizing that justice in this case would not only restore their rights but also uphold the dignity and sacrifices of those who serve the nation.
