Pakistan have defeated India by two wickets in a thrilling match of ACC Men’s U-19 Asia Cup at ICC Academy Ground in Dubai.
The Men in Green needed two runs on the last ball of the match to win and Ahmed Khan hit a four to lead the team to victory. He played an unbeaten inning of 29 off 19 balls with the help of 3 fours and a six.
The side achieved the target of 238 runs on the last ball of the match at a loss of 8 wickets. Muhammad Shehzad made 81 off 105 balls with 5 sixes and 4 fours.
Muhammad Irfan Niazi and Rizwan Mahmood scored crucial 32 and 29 respectively. India’s Raj Bawa took four wickets.
Earlier, Pakistan bowled out India for 237 as Zeeshan Zameer bagged a fifer. The right-arm pacer struck thrice in his first two overs with India teetering on 14/3.
In the eighth over, Awais Ali had the better of Nishant Sindhu. India managed to recover well and had few decent partnerships.
Last-game centurion Harnoor Singh scored a crucial 46 off 59 while wicketkeeper Aaradhya Yadav made fifty off 83. They finished well with Kaushal Tambe scoring 33 while Rajvardhan Hangargekar played a cameo knock off 33 in just 20 balls.
For Pakistan, Zeeshan finished with figures of 5/60 while Awais bagged figures of 2/43. Captain Qasim Akram and Maaz Sadaqat bagged a wicket each.
Shehzad was awarded Player of the Match for his brilliant knock while chasing.
It must be noted that Pakistan have now two wins out of two matches in the event. They defeated Afghanistan by four wickets on December 23.
