RAWALPINDI: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Nadeem Raza here at Joint Staff Headquarters on Friday. Matters related to the geostrategic environment and further strengthening of security and defence cooperation between the two countries were discussed during the meeting. Both sides reaffirmed the commitment that being ‘iron brothers’ and ‘all-weather’ friends, Pakistan and China would continue to forge deeper strategic ties. Earlier during the last week, Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa met the newly-appointed Ambassador of China to Pakistan Nong Rong to discuss matters of mutual interest and regional security, said a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). “The two noted exceptional relations between both countries and pledged to further improve the same,” ISPR said. The military’s media wing added that the visiting dignitary acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions for conflict prevention in the region. TLTP
