In connection with “Pakistan Day” celebration, a cricket game of disabled persons was organized here at the sports complex, jamrud on Wednesday.
The game activity was initiated by the sports department with support of local administration and disabled players of district Khyber participated in it. One team was jointly formulated of Landi Kotal and Jamrud disabled players while another team represented Bara subdivision.
Assistant Commissioner, Jamrud Shakeel Ahmad Khan as a chief guest inaugurated the extra-curricular event.
Beside district sport officer Rahid Gul Mulagori member of civil society, special persons and sports lover witnessed the cricket competitions.
The spectators were amused by the game and appreciated the players for exhibiting their best of talent.
The joint team of Landi Kotal and Jamrud beat the Bara disabled persons team and was declared the winner.
Speaking on the occasion AC Shakeel Ahmad Khan said that the purpose of initiating the game combat is to include disabled ones in joy moments of “Pakistan Day” celebrations.
Special persons contribute to the national development therefore initiatives are being taken to remove their sense of ignorance and provide them opportunities of leisure time.
At the end the chief guest distributed prizes among the players.
The Winning team was given away ten thousand rupees cash prize beside the winning trophy while the runner-up team got a five thousand rupees cash award beside the trophy.
Asad Shinwari and Sher Ali were announced best players of the game.
Sports Kits were also distributed among the players of the both teams.
