Pakistan endorses UN sanctions on Makki

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has endorsed the decision of the United Nations Security Council’s Sanctions Committee to place restrictions on JuD leader Abdul Rehman Makki. In compliance with the UN Security Council’s decision, the foreign ministry has made Makki subject to assets freeze, travel ban, ban on collecting funds and arms embargo. The foreign ministry has issued notification in this regard on Jan 17. According to the notification, the Jamatud Dawa leader Abdul Rehman Makki’s assets stand frozen with immediate effect. The assets include all properties, funds and resources which belong to the JuD. The notification further says that Makki would not travel abroad, nor could he involve in arms trade.
