Abdul Razaq Dawood advisor to Prime Minister (PM) has said Pakistan is facing current account, budget and trade deficit and government has taken big decisions to scale up exports.
He said this while addressing a private company here Saturday. He held vital decisions were taken in the budget to develop industry.
He remarked steps are being taken on priority basis for reducing deficit. “We devised policy for the development of Pakistan. We are going to do some thing with regard to expenses budget deficit.
He underlined iron and steel is backbone of economy. Steel demand is very significant in GDP. Pakistan steel production capability was 3 lac tones. Steel demand in Pakistan is 60 lac tones annually.
He pointed out that Pakistan spends 2 billion dollars every year to import steel. “We still lag behind but improvement is coming in steel sector.
