Pakistan Navy assumes Guard Duties at Iqbal’s Mausoleum

Lahore: An impressive Change of Guard Ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal as the nation marked the 148th birth anniversary of the “Mufakkir-e-Pakistan,” the visionary who conceived the idea of an independent Muslim state in the subcontinent. A smartly turned-out contingent of Pakistan Navy assumed guard duties from Pakistan Rangers (Punjab). Commander Central Punjab, Rear Admiral Sohail Ahmad Azmie, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
On behalf of Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, officers, sailors, and civilians of Pakistan Navy, Commander Central Punjab laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha at the mausoleum. The Chief Guest also recorded his remarks in the visitor’s book, paying rich tribute to the great poet-philosopher.
The ceremony was attended by dignitaries, media representatives, and a large number of citizens.
