Pakistan Post today successfully unveiled The World’s Longest Commemorative Postage Stamp and a special Souvenir Sheet in honour of the legendary artist, calligrapher, poet, and national icon Sadequain during a prestigious inauguration ceremony held at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Islamabad.
The ceremony brought together distinguished government officials, renowned artists, philatelists, cultural personalities, members of the media, and art enthusiasts to celebrate the remarkable legacy of one of Pakistan’s greatest creative visionaries.
This historic philatelic issue pays tribute to Sadequain’s extraordinary contributions to art, calligraphy, literature, and Pakistan’s cultural heritage. Recognized internationally for his monumental murals, revolutionary calligraphic style, and enduring artistic vision, Sadequain continues to inspire generations of artists and admirers around the world.
The highlight of the event was the formal unveiling of The World’s Longest Commemorative Postage Stamp, an unprecedented philatelic achievement that represents a unique fusion of art, culture, and innovation. The issue marks a significant milestone in Pakistan Post’s philatelic history and reflects the organization’s continued commitment to preserving and promoting the nation’s cultural heritage.
The concept and design of this remarkable commemorative issue were developed by Abu Obaidah Ayyaz, Pakistan’s youngest postage stamp designer, in collaboration with Hasnain Mahmud, whose shared vision transformed the project into a landmark philatelic tribute worthy of Sadequain’s unparalleled artistic legacy.
Alongside the commemorative stamp and souvenir sheet, Pakistan Post also released a specially designed First Day Cover (FDC), an informative Philatelic Leaflet, and dedicated commemorative cancellation marks (cancellers), providing collectors with a complete and memorable philatelic package.
Addressing the gathering, officials of Pakistan Post emphasized the importance of commemorating national icons whose contributions have shaped Pakistan’s artistic and intellectual identity. The issuance reaffirms Pakistan Post’s dedication to celebrating individuals whose work has earned both national and international recognition.

The commemorative stamp, souvenir sheet, First Day Cover, philatelic leaflet, and other related collectibles are now available through designated Philatelic Bureaus and selected post offices across Pakistan.
