Pakistan Customs and the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan have successfully operationalized the electronic exchange of pre-arrival Customs information as of 22nd January 2026, following the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two administrations.
As part of the initiative, Pakistan Single Window (PSW) played a central role in enhancing the WeBOC system, ensuring that Customs officers could access the exchanged data for operational use. These system enhancements have streamlined the processing of Customs declarations, improved risk assessment capabilities, and reduced consignment dwell time at border stations.
This exchange is the first in a series of planned Customs data sharing agreements with other regional partners. It aligns with Pakistan’s broader goals under the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Program, especially in promoting trade facilitation, advancing Customs cooperation, and enhancing digital connectivity. The integration between Pakistan and Uzbekistan marks a key milestone in building stronger digital trade corridors that connect South Asia and Central Asia.
The operationalization of this exchange reflects the collaborative efforts of Pakistan Customs, Pakistan Single Window, and the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, advancing Customs cooperation and trade facilitation in the region. It also supports the broader goal of harmonizing border management systems among CAREC member countries.
