ISLAMABAD
Pakistan has said it supports the efforts for peace and stability in Yemen and is keeping close eye on the situation.
According to Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson we are closely watching the prevailing situation in Yemen. We support the diplomatic efforts from Saudi Arabia for peace in Yemen. We hope the diplomatic efforts will lead to establish durable peace in the country.
We appreciate UAE efforts for stability in Yemen. Pakistan lays stress on respecting the territorial integrity of Yemen.
It was said in the statement issued by FO it is hoped Yemeni stake holders will avoid from taking such unilateral steps which may lead to further escalation of situation.
The stake holders should find out political solution through dialogue with consensus.
“We also call on all Yemeni parties to engage constructively and in good faith towards an inclusive, negotiated political solution based on the agreed parameters.”
It is pertinent to mention here tension is continuing between Resigned Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi and armed groups of interim council in South Yemen. The skirmishes continue to take place between the two groups.
These skirmishes started from Aden a few years back and later scope of clashes extended to Saqatri island and other areas. Hundreds of people were killed or were injured during these skirmishes.
