Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that future of this region is linked with China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Pakistan is committed to ensure all possible measures for its security.
In a statement on Saturday), the foreign minister said that Islamabad will work with Beijing to safeguard the CPEC and ensure timely completion of all its projects.
The foreign minister said that China also understands the importance of this economic corridor, so a clear message has been given from Beijing regarding security of the CPEC. He said that Indian nefarious designs against the project will be foiled.
Qureshi said that Pakistan has presented a dossier regarding Indian support to terrorist activities inside Pakistan and targeting CPEC projects. He said that Pakistan will raise the concerns expressed in the dossier at all major international forums, including the United Nations (UN) and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
He said that Islamabad will not remain silent on Indian tactics to destroy the peace process in neighbouring country and will take the matter to the international level.
Earlier, China on Friday said the attempts that aim to sabotage the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) are doomed to fail. In a tweet, Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Spokesman Lijian Zhao said that Beijing appreciated Islamabad’s efforts against terrorism, days after Islamabad presented “irrefutable evidence” of Indian involvement in terror activities.
