PARC towards self-sufficiency in major food items;- Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali Chairman PARC

Addressing to a ceremony organized by employees association of PARC (EAPARC) held at NARC Auditorium, Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali Chairman PARC, said that PARC has the outset focused on agriculture as 70% of the country’s population is dependent on agriculture as well as 45% of the employment is related to agriculture.
The Chairman in addition said that owing to the hard-work of these scientists Pakistan is now self -sufficient in its major food items like wheat, rice, sugarcane, maize etc.
He assured that our scientists are always ready to take any challenge faced by the agricultural sector in Pakistan.
The Chairman also viewed the steps taken to resolve the issue of contract employees regarding their regularization. Dy. Director General NARC Dr. Imtiaz Hussain, Muhammad Ishaq Secretary PARC, PARC’s technical Members including a large number of PARC’s scientists / employees were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Director General NARC Dr. Imtiaz Hussain said that under the patronage of Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali, PARC would play its outstanding role in agricultural research and development.
Together with the scientists of PARC, they will be engaged in achieving the agricultural goals of the country under modern agricultural research system so that the country can move towards agricultural self-sufficiency.
The President of EAPARC Mr. Liaqat Ali Wahla assured that the association will continue its efforts to promote the scientific research and disseminate knowledge at the doorstep of farmers.
He also paid vote of thanks to the Chairman PARC and Sr. Management for providing promotion opportunities to the PARC’s employees.
