The parents in district Khyber have expressed concerns about suffering of their children’s education as the contract of the Parent-teacher Council(PTC) teachers would expire in March.
While expressing their concerns parents and teachers in Landikotal told Lead Pakistan that end of the PTC teachers contract in March would suffer education of their children.
They said though the initiative was best in the education sector because with this initiative the shortage of teachers in schools in all district of the province was met to a great extent. He added but now due to the expiry of the contract of the employment of the teachers they were worried about the children as it would definitely suffer their study.
They said that two or three months were left for the exams, if these teachers fired at that time due to the contract expiry, it would affect the education of the students and their future would be at stake.
The parents and teachers demanded of the chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP), Azam Khan, the education minister and the secretary to extend the contract of the teachers by one year so that the studies of the students were not suffer till the exams.
It is noteworthy to mention that due to the shortage of teachers in schools the KP government had recruited male and female teachers through PTC for 9-month contract in the year 2022. The contract will end in March 2023.
