Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf member provincial assembly Iftikhar Ali Mashwani on Thursday said that it is need of time that every individual of the society should take part and succeed the anti-polio campaign started from 24th January and save children from lifelong disability.
He expressed these views while talking to the media. Iftikhar Ali Mashwani added that the anti-polio campaign will start from January 24th in Mardan district.
He urged all parents to ensure that all their children up to 5 years of age are vaccinated against polio.
He argued that parents should cooperate with the administration in vaccinating children and not listen to negative propaganda. He added that for the health and bright future of our children we must vaccinate our children.
He added that polio affects children up to five years of age. He added that it can lead to lifelong disability and even death of children. He added that this contagious disease can be cured by giving polio drops to our children.
He added that children under the age of 5 can be prevented from spreading the deadly virus by vaccinating them. He argued that polio is a viral disease which may affect the spinal cord causing muscle weakness and paralysis.
He added that the polio virus enters the body through the mouth, usually from hands contaminated with the stool of an infected person. He added that polio is more common in infants and young children and occurs under conditions of poor hygiene.
He added that only anti-polio vaccination can save our children from this dangerous disease. Iftikhar Ali Mashwani added that repeated immunization has made almost all the countries of the world polio free. He added that it is our national duty to participate in the anti-polio campaign.
