The Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Board of Governors (BoG) on Thursday decided to include more players in PCB’s central contract and to add up to their salaries, PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja said Friday.
The decision was made in PCB’s BoG’s meeting on Thursday, and was revealed by Board’s chairman Ramiz Raja on Friday.
Talking to a press conference in Lahore, the PCB Chief said board’s BoG has approved a budget of 15 billion rupees for the FY 2022-23. He also disclosed that number of players in PCB’s central contract, as well as players’ salaries has also been increased.
During the press conference, Raja said 78 percent of the total budget will be spent on cricket-related activities. He said number of total players in the central contract has been increased from 20 to 33. Adding to this, Raja said red ball and white ball were also being included in the central contract for the very first time.
Talking about the speculations about him exiting as the PCB Chief, Raja said the practice of replacing PCB Chairman with any change in Prime Minister’s Office was “regrettable”, if there was any.
