LAHORE
High Court (LHC) has issued written order to allow former Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Pervaiz Elahi and others to contest by polls.
A two members bench issued a 9-page decision.
The decision said the courts are guardian of democracy and basic rights.
The decision further said the appellant could not prove objections against Pervaiz Elahi and others. The appellant could not tell correct facts on the basis of which the decision of single bench was nullified.
It was further said in the decision that courts are guardian of democracy and basic rights.
In the court decision principles of democracy and duty of returning officers was told.
The appellant raised objection that Pervaiz Elahi and others did not mention correct facts about properties and other things.
According to written decision counsel for Pervaiz Elahi told that such objection was raised in general election as well.
Supreme Court allowed Pervaiz Elahi to contest general election.
LHC said in its written decision Pervaiz Elahi is still in jail. The record of all properties has been provided as per law.
